As an AI ML Engineer in the Hardware Engineering Group, you’ll join cross-functional teams to plan, design, optimize, test, and verify advanced hardware and software systems. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including digital, analog, RF, and optical systems, and requires expertise in running ML workloads on hardware through Python and modern AI frameworks. Projects span from building scalable AI product solutions to deep technical research and infrastructure work that impacts billions of devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers in planning, designing, and validating hardware systems.
• Develop innovative, scalable solutions for AI and ML workloads, from idea to implementation.
• Apply robust software engineering principles and develop new features in Python for ML model deployment.
• Build and optimize machine learning architectures including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, and generative AI.
• Perform in-depth analysis, feature selection, optimization, and modeling for ML projects.
• Maintain high quality and efficiency in code, documentation, and testing.
• Contribute to the development of reliable, interpretable, and efficient AI systems for Qualcomm devices.
• Partner with the team on code reviews, infrastructure tooling, and performance tuning.
• Engage in continuous learning to keep up with state-of-the-art ML/AI advancements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years experience in software and AI/ML development.
• Strong mathematics for ML, algorithmic thinking, and coding.
• Advanced knowledge of deep learning, model deployment, and ML workflow.
• Exposure to next-gen AI: generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, finetuning.
• Experience with VLSI, hardware bring-up, or embedded systems is a plus.
• Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to design end-to-end AI solutions and innovate at all stack levels.
